About

My Story.

Brent Godfrey

I attended Sheridan College for Media Arts, with a focus on screenwriting and directing. My thesis film, Utopia, was an official selection of the Montreal World Film Festival, and CineFest Sudbury, where it won the Audience Choice Award for best short film, as well as the Best Student Film Award.

Upon graduation, I balanced my day job with personal creative work — mostly screenplays, with the odd editing experiment here and there. Eventually, I was hired on at a local film studio as their in-house production/postproduction unit. From there, I moved into content creation and copywriting, with some freelance editing and screenplay coverage work as well.

Film is first and foremost storytelling. I keep this in mind when approaching any project - regardless of the department I'm working in. After all, I'm here to tell a story.
